Attune Systems Secures $14 Million in Funding

Attune Systems, Inc., a provider of enterprise-class network file management solutions, has announced that it has received $14 million in a new venture-funding round led by RWI Ventures. This round follows significant market momentum, with advances in Attune’s R&D efforts resulting in nine patents, and comes at a time when awareness and adoption within the market for file virtualization is expanding rapidly.

Participation in this round also included GF Private Equity Group, LLC as a new investor, and existing investors Alloy Ventures, QTV Capital, Rock Creek Capital, and Shea Ventures. The funds raised will be used to ramp up sales, marketing, as well as additional R&D and support efforts.

“After conducting an in-depth analysis of the market opportunity and unique capabilities offered by Attune, we had detailed discussions with existing customers and partners. Based upon the strong results of our evaluation, we are excited to lead this round and help Attune continue their momentum and leadership position with their unique Windows-based file virtualization solution,” said William Baumel of RWI Ventures. “We are confident that the company will continue to build upon the strong customer traction and strategic partnerships that it has already established,” William said.

“We are pleased to add solid, new investors while keeping our existing investment partners deeply involved. This new round of funding further validates our strategy and provides the company sufficient resources to continue achieving our corporate growth objectives for the foreseeable future,” said Alan Kessler, CEO, Attune. “We are committed to solving real customer issues with a low-risk, feature-rich file virtualization solution at an attractive price point. This funding puts us in a position to continue the momentum we’ve built with customers and previously announced partners such as Microsoft, NetApp and Google,” Alan said.
